We met at a bar called Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House, in Reading, PA; we're both vegetarian now, but weren't at the time.

There was a St. Patrick's Day 5k event, that neither of us were running in, but we were both hanging out for the after party. Meghan was having dinner at a table near the restroom with 2 other friends. Kristin was making her way to the restroom, when she realized someone was already occupying the single stall.

Kristin walked back to wait, and that landed her right next to Meghan's table, where, in typical Kristin fashion, she began to talk to Meghan and her friends. The bathroom eventually opened up, after quite some time, so Kristin left.

The people Meghan were with did run in the 5k. Kristin had to walk by the table again on her way out, so when she walked by they asked Kristin what her time was. Kristin completely misunderstood the context of this question and answered "Faster than that woman"... Kristin meant the woman in the bathroom before her.

Everyone thought this was hysterical, so we all exchanged information with the intent to go kayaking and rock climbing some time in the future. We all proceeded with our nights, and the next day Meghan reached out to Kristin to go long-boarding. Kristin agreed, and reluctantly bombed down some massive hills in complete terror, but this all was the beginning of the incredible bond that formed our relationship.
